Former Brentford and Blackburn goalkeeper David Raya has made last season’s loan spell at Arsenal permanent. The 27-year-old Barcelona-born stopper kept 16 clean sheets last year and helped The Gunners sustain a title bid and come even close to eventual champions Manchester City.
At the time, the signing was a very divisive one and was one we criticised as well. To the Spaniard’s credit, he bounced back from some setbacks and some errors and on the whole put up some good performances.
How this will affect Aaron Ramsdale’s future appears to be seen, but as far as Arsenal and boss Mikel Arteta are concerned, they have concluded some business that needs to be done quickly.
Now the North London club could complete the signing of a striker, one who will get 20/25 goals a season. Ivan?
