The Manchester Arena had a lot to showcase in the ninth night of the BetMGM Premier League.

It all started with dominance from Stephen Bunting, nearly earning a whitewash six-leg win against Michael van Gerwen as he defeated ‘The Green Machine’ 6-3.

Both Gerwyn Price and Luke Humphries landed averages over 100, but it was the Welshman’s impressive checkout accuracy which defeated ‘Cool Hand’ 6-2, especially when checking out a 167 and 135 in the first two legs.

There was unexpected heat in the third quarter-final matchup as Gian van Veen beat Luke Littler in the controversial deciding leg to win 6-5.

‘The Nuke’ cheered with the crowd after the Dutchman missed his second dart at double 15 which ‘The Giant’ spotted as he looked to the crowd in disbelief.

Just like in the second game, the averages were high, and once again Josh Rock managed to beat Jonny Clayton to earn points on the board for a second time, beating ‘The Ferret’ 6-4.

More remarkable darts were displayed in the first match of the semi-finals where ‘The Iceman’ maintained is accuracy of checkouts from the first contest to beat Bunting 6-2, landing a 170 checkout on the third leg.

After the fiery ending from the last match, van Veen was able to keep his cool and defeat ‘Rocky’ 6-3 to proceed to the final in his quest to enter the top four of the standings.

While the 23-year-old gained the most from his two successful legs, Price triumphed once again to win 6-2 and claim his second night of the tournament.

Littler remains at the top of the table, despite his crash-out in the first game, while Price moves up to second on the same points as fellow Welshman.
