Taking wickets, is the football equivalent of goals win matches. On the flip side, it can be argued that one team scoring more than the other wins matches too, but in the case of former two-time defending PSL champions Lahore Qalandars, lost the art of taking wickets in T20s.

In last year’s successful T20 triumph, the Qalandars took 47 wickets, this year they have taken 12. Quite depressing reading, for Lahore fans, but then again it didn’t help with key players such as Rashid Khan not being available.

The omission of Harris Rauf, who has had somewhat of a difficult relationship with the ECB regarding which formats he wanted to play in, only aggravates such an issue.

You have been fighting PSL champions Lahore, maybe next year you can get a full-strength bowling attack again, which was something which made you so dangerous as a bowling unit.
