Jurgen Klopp’s title chasers were in danger of being held to a third draw at home in a row, but thanks to the boot of Mo Salah were able to get over the line.

The 4-2 score line is a bit harsh on Magpies goalkeeper Martin Dubravka who performed heroically on the night.

What should be a night paying tribute to Liverpool on an impressive win, will be dominated to a point by VAR.

There were two penalties on the night and one of the penalties was awarded after a terrible dive by Diogo Jota.

What made the Jota dive worse is that VAR didn’t see anything wrong with it.

As disappointing as that was to see, Liverpool deserves credit for taking advantage of Arsenal’s slip-up yesterday. Bring on FA Cup week!
