Seven-time Premier League champions Manchester City beat Liverpool 3-0 in Sunday’s big game. As impressive as that win was, the football world will be shifting its attention to matters off the pitch.
As we know, The Blues have been charged with 114 out of 115 charges relating to their finances. City have denied any wrongdoing throughout and have fiercely and continue to fiercely contest the charges that have been brought against them.
To his credit, new Man City manager Enzo Maresca appears to be hitting a chord with his new team. On the pitch, there appears to be a real harmony. not only did his side win the derby at Old Trafford, but they have also now gone to Anfield and put Liverpool to the sword.
One, can’t help but be impressed. In terms of matters off the pitch, I argue there is no right answer. Everyone who has spoken about the matter has spoken about their opinion, no matter who they might be in the game.
One thing is for sure, football can’t come out of this situation with its head held high.
