Oh, Arsenal, it’s like you want us to mock you; it really is. Football fans, North London side Arsenal have made a video about Mikael extending his stay at The Emirates.
The former Gunners captain has signed a new deal, which will end in 2030. This video included members of the current squad thanking the boss and some words from former Gunner Santi Cazorla.
Some people, or in this case, some clubs, just seem to make it easier on themselves to be laughed at. Arteta has won something after nine years. At normal clubs with standards, Arteta would have been out of a job by now, not given the chequebook to spend close to £1 billion.
The former Man City assistant has won the Premier League title, prompting some Arsenal fans to compare the former Everton and Rangers midfielder to the great Sir Alex Ferguson.
The Gunners will probably not see how over the top this is. Will Saliba and other key Arsenal players have signed new deals, and they weren’t given over-the-top videos.
Imagine if Arsenal go back-to-back; I dare to think what video will be released then.
