All square in Old Firm

Rangers and Celtic shared four goals in an entertaining game that ended 2-2. Visitors Celtic started the game the brighter and went ahead through Daizen Maeda. Home side Rangers were sluggish, but that goal sprung The Gers to life.

Barely two minutes after that goal former Liverpool winger Ryan Kent scored for Michael Beale’s Rangers to level things up at 1-1. Rangers went ahead for the first time in the game as captain James Taverner scored a penalty after Fashion Sakala was fouled, to make it 2-1.

Michael Beale’s side did have some chances through goal scorer Kent, but they were not able to see the game out as Kyogo Furuhashi’s late equaliser helped the champions snatch a point.

That point for The Bhoys helped them maintain their nine-point lead at the top of the table. As for Rangers, they will no doubt be devastated to drop points in such circumstances.

To the former QPR manager’s credit, he has been able to grind out some wins to keep the 55-time Scottish Premiership winners in contention for championship glory, but it’s a long shot.

Unlike other Old Firm derby matches, this was error-filled. Despite that, it would be Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic who will leave Ibrox the happier. If you enjoyed this Old Firm derby, then you can look forward to 8th April, when they will do it all again, but at Celtic Park.
