Are you still going to say this isn’t a good World Cup?

So, I ask you, after all the drama, shocks and upsets, are you not entertained? Qatar 2022, has been one of the best World Cups in living memory. Sure, the number of goals scored might not be as many as in other World Cup tournaments, but the excitement is there.

Group A, B, C, D and tonight’s group E matches have a lot at stake, going into the last game there’s been few dead rubbers . Group E, a group which contains two former world champions in the form of Spain and Germany has produced a lot of excitement like the other groups.

Just when it seemed destined for Japan to progress, they would lose to a Costa Rica side, adamant on doing a good impression of Greece in Euro 2004.

Los Ticos offered nothing in the game, and now group E is wide open. Going back to yesterday, and against the odds, Australia are through to the round of 16 and Tunisia beat world champions France 1-0.

Yes, Les Bleus had their second string out, but Deschamps’ side have that much strength in depth they can field two teams. The big casualty of this group was Denmark, who only took a single point from three games.
The matches in Group C, which saw all four sides having a chance to get through to the next round, would see Argentina (pre-tournament favourites), top the group.

This wasn’t where the drama would ensue. The other game in the group, between Saudi Arabia and Mexico had something riding on it and it was all to play for.

The Mexicans went 2-0 up in the game and had a fighting chance of qualifying after Poland went 2-0 down to Argentina. If the matches would have stayed the same, then Poland would have squeezed through.

But the late goal from Saudi further dented El Tri’s chance of progression to the round of 16. The match was dramatic and so was the finale.

Not forgetting to mention Group A, which did have some drama too. The game between USA and Iran, saw another goal ruled out for offside, a decision which cost the Iranian’s an equaliser.

What would have gone against Carlos Queiroz’s men was their goal difference which was dented by the England demolition.
Groups E and F, the other four groups have produced excitement with drama, don’t let us down lads!
