Breaking! Nuno sacked by Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur have sacked manager Nuno Espírito Santo after only four months in charge. The former Valencia and Wolves manager who was appointed after a very long and protracted managerial search, leaves his role at the North London club eight points behind leaders Chelsea.

In the defence of the Portuguese club, he arrived in difficult circumstances, they included and still include star striker Harry Kane seeming like he has set his heart on a move away from the club.

England captain Kane, all summer was tipped to join Manchester City, but that move didn’t materialise as Tottenham wanted £160 million for their captain. Despite the riches of The Cityzens, even they were never going to buy Kane for that much, especially considering Erling Haaland will be half that this summer.

Nuno, like Manchester United counterpart Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, had been under intense pressure after some summer spending this term. Like The Red Devils boss, The Lillywhites did spend money, but it wasn’t all on the right players as Spurs still don’t have a proper back up to England number 9 Kane.

Some gaps were filled, but many were not. Nuno’s tenure, a short one is also a spell that Tottenham fans would want to forget as we think this signifies are dark period for the club. Reports suggest that Italian Antonio Conte, who had been heavily tipped for the top job at Old Trafford last week, is in talks with his former director of football at Juventus Fabio Paritici.

Spurs fans, and others connected to the club will be hoping, that they now get this appointment right. Tottenham can’t go any lower than their current position.
