Have you ever experienced a life experience, where it’s too good to turn down? That job, you can’t refuse for example, because it’s too good to turn down, a dream job. In football, that job is arguably the Real Madrid job, whether it be the manager’s job, or being signed as a player.

Eden Hazard or even Jonathan Woodgate are some examples of players, who couldn’t turn down the lure of Real, but in all realities, for the sake of their careers, they might well have been.

In terms of mangers, Zinedine Zidane couldn’t resist the lure of coming back to the Bernabeu, nor could Carlo Ancelotti when at Everton. In the case of Don Carlo, it appeared the veteran Italian was all but set to renew his time at The Toffees, but a call from Florentino Perez, was a call he couldn’t ignore.

Now the same could be said of ‘The Special One’, Jose Mourinho. The now former Benfica boss has agreed to take over at Real, replacing Alvaro Arbeloa. Jose quite clearly is going to have his work cut out.

In his first spell, he did enjoy some success and did win the League title by amassing 100 points, something which Barcelona a team who many thought is one of the best in its generation, couldn’t do at the time.

There were megastars at the club such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Kaka. Players like Alonso did balance the side and arguably, players like the now Chelsea boss helped balance such a talented attacking side.

This time round, Jose Mourinho does have a talented squad to chose from. Kylian Mbappe, Vinicious Junior, Rodrygo and Bellingham does signify elite talent in this modern era, but the beauty of it will be for Real’s new manager is to get them to work together.

Xabi, struggled and so did his successor Arbeloa. Los Blancos have had the issue of player power, long before Mourinho came to the club and long after he will leave the club. But if your Jose can you honestly say no to the Real Madrid job?

It will take a very brave man to say no to Florentino Perez. Even after 13-years apart, Perez knew he could lure Jose back to the Bernabeu. The Special is back on a two-year deal.
