The 19-year-old continued his title triumph of his illustrious career by winning the World Masters for the first time.

Luke Littler and Luke Humphries produced a classic match which came down to a deciding set where ‘The Nuke was victorious after checking out 25 and 20 in two important legs to win 6-5.

The Warrington darts player had tough competition throughout the tournament as he just managed to beat Mike De Decker 3-2 in round one, before a comfortable 4-1 victory against Ross Smith in the second round.

The World Champion then eased his way into the last four after beating Josh Rock 4-0 and narrowly entered the final after a close contest with Gerwyn Price, triumphing 5-4 on the deciding leg.

Humphries looked destined to defend his World Masters title after his whitewash victories against Danny Noppert and Gian van Veen in the quarter-finals and semi-finals.

‘Cool Hand’ even produced the first televised nine-darter of 2026 in his second set against Luke Woodhouse in round two.

The 30-year-old has been in many finals against Littler and has not often come out successful.

Speaking with ITV4, the Reading-born player said: “You look back on the whole game. It’s hard to pick holes in it.

“That’s the pressure he puts you under. He has shown that through class. He never folds under pressure,” Humphries added.

“I think he’s the greatest darts player who has ever lived.”

The only PDC premier event Littler has not claimed is the European Championship which takes place in October.

The next focus for both World Masters finalists is the Premier League which begins on Thursday, and judging by how well both Englishmen played, it wouldn’t a surprise to see the two darting superstars reach the final of Night One in Newcastle.
