Championship strugglers Leicester City have appointed former player Gary Rowett until the end of the season. The 51-year-old Rowett, who played for The Foxes for two seasons in the early 2000’s, will be joined at The King Power Stadium by Callum Davidson, a former team-mate.
A difficult job lies ahead for the new management team. Leicester City, due to being punished for breaching FFP, are firmly in a relegation battle. Ten years ago, the East Midlands side were named Premier League champions; then, to be possibly relegated to England’s third tier would be a bitter pill to swallow.
Gary Rowett is the man charged with stopping that from happening. In his last job, which ended with him being sacked at Oxford. Leicester City will be praying for history to NOT repeat itself.
