For as long as I can remember, Scotland’s Premier League has always been viewed dimly by fellow European football Leagues. The Bundesliga and La Liga have room to talk, as I argue both of these Leagues can be very one-sided.

Unlike Italy, view few times is their genuine competition. A few years ago, when AC Milan won the League, there was fierce competition coming from cross-city rivals Inter and Napoli, too.

Despite being known as the best League in the world, the Premier League is one-sided I argue, (thanks a lot Pep). In the SPL, yes there are seasons where Celtic run-away with the League and sometimes, Rangers give them some good competition, but this year Celtic are not even top of the League.

That honour goes to Derek McInnes’ Hearts side, who have been very impressive this term. Last time out they were beaten 1-0 against St Mirren, which has opened this season’s title race.

The Edinburgh side lead the way at the top with 54 points, but three points are behind are Rangers with 51 points and three further-back are Celtic with 48 points.

In my 39 years of life, never have I seen a title-battle like, South of the border. The Glasgow sides, started the season poorly, but to their credit have recovered and are making a fist of it, in the title race this year.
