The snooker world is in mourning after the sad news that John Virgo has passed away, aged 79. The legendary broadcaster and player was born in Salford in 1946 and had two children Gary and Brooke-Leah.

Virgo, a former UK Open champion, off the table presented the hit snooker TV show Big Break and will always be remembered for his iconic quote, ‘Where’s the cue ball going’?

Players such as Neil Robertson, Mark Shelby and Sean Murphy have come out ot pay tribute to the snooker legend. John Virgo’s last appearance in the commentary box was 17 days ago, The Masters final, where Kyren Wilson beat John Higgins in the final.
