A late goal from substitute Kai Havertz helped Arsenal secure their place in the Carabao Cup final, with a 1-0 win on the night and a 4-2 win on aggregate. The game itself looked set to end in a draw until former Chelsea forward Havertz’s intervention.

With The Gunners needing to avoid defeat, there was always going to be every chance that this game might end in a stalemate, and so it turned out to be, with both sides just having two shots on goal.

Mikel Arteta’s men, who have the best defence in the Premier League were well organised, never giving much for the Chelsea forwards to sniff at. Arsenal await the winners of the second semi-final between Manchester City and Newcastle, where Man City have a 2-0 lead on aggregate.
