The Italian Sinner, who was looking to contend his fourth successive final with the young Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, so those efforts go up in smoke as he had no answer to an inspired Novak.

The Serb legend, was a set down levelled, but then trailed 2-1 again. the 38-year-old seemed down and out, but he didn’t allow himself to believe it. Drawing upon his legendary spirit, Novak against the odds won this epic game, 3-6, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4. A packed out Rod Laver Arena couldn’t believe their eyes.
So that epic win for Djokovic sees him become the oldest man to reach a Grand Slam final, if he wins he will become the oldest winner of a Grand Slam. In opposition will be current World Number One Carlos Alcaraz, the youngest finalist in the history of the tournament.
If he wins, he will break a record like Novak would, but Alcaraz’s record will see him as the youngest winner of this event. One thing for certain is that Sunday’s final is going to be epic.
