Hello, good morning sports fans, I hope you’re well, looking after yourselves and are in good health. Sports fans, we need to talk, specifically about football and in particular, Pep Guardiola.
Manchester City manager Guardiola has been in charge of The Blues for 10 seasons, in a period which has yielded unprecedented success for the club. Last year, however, was a blot on the record book as City didn’t finish with a trophy last season.
Fans of Man City in the 90’s would say tell me something new, as that was the norm, but the Manchester City of this decade is a title-winning machine. Seeing City like this is uncharted territory, for some fans like my 11-year-old nephew, he even suggested he was prepared to make a jump to the red side.
Maybe that Eid present all those years ago, where I got him a Man United shirt isn’t such a waste after all! As for Man City, though, they’re in a precarious position, given their recent standards.
For some clubs, being in a semi-final of a domestic cup competition, second in the League and all but set to qualify for the next phase of the Champions League, even with Tuesday’s disappointing result against Bodo Glimt.
To simplify things, Pep has several players out injured, and his star player is out of form. The more deep-rooted issue is, is that this team is in transition, and the move from Ederson to Donnarumma wasn’t one they were ready to take.
