Someone needs to tell Bournemouth they sold three out of four of their defenders in the summer, as well as a key attacking player in Dango Outtara. Outtara would leave, citing a lack of first-team football, but when Evanlinson was injured, it was the 23-year-old who admirably filled in up top for the former Porto striker.

Milos Kerkez, now at Liverpool, has been replaced by Adrien Truffert, a signing from Ligue 1, for the fee of around £17 million. The season is still young, but if he carries on in this vein, Truffert might also make the move to Anfield.

Think about it, Robbo (Andy Robertson), isn’t getting younger. After the opening-day defeat to Liverpool, the Cherries have gone on to win three in a row. Some cynics might criticise the opposition that Bournemouth have played after Liverpool, but even so, they deserve credit.

As the saying goes, you can only beat what is in front of you. What I find the most impressive is that Justin Kluivert, one of the stars of last season, is on the bench so far this season.

Of course, it’s early days, but well done to Andoni Iraola, the man clearly is a competent manager. No matter what happens, the man always finds a solution to fix problems that could occur with his team.
