Nuno Espirito Santo has been sacked by Nottingham Forest, due in part to the breakdown of the relationship with owner Mr Marinakis. Marinakis, who also owns Olympiakos, has never been one to shy away from controversy.

Last season, despite his side finishing in an excellent position, the Nottingham Forest owner came on to the pitch and appeared to have some choice words for Nuno.

The former Wolves manager played it down at the time. This season, however, Nuno Espírito Santo surprisingly appeared to hint at a breakdown of communication and relationship.

The former Valencia manager, 51, had been at the City Ground for two seasons. Fellow journalist, the esteemed David Ornstein, says it wasn’t Nuno’s decision to leave.

Respected journalist Fabrizio Romano, was one of the journalists who broke the story in the late hours of Monday, 8th September. As this is a developing story, we will be able to talk more about it when more information becomes available.

Some might say it’s too early to tell, but personally, this kind of job should be one that Ange Postecglou applies for. Marinakis and Postecoglou do appear to have had some form of relationship prior.
