Europa League winners Tottenham Hotspur have signed former Fulham midfielder João Paulinha on loan from Bayern Munich, with the option of the deal going permanent.
The 30-year-old joined The Bavarians after seeing winter deadline day move full apart in the 22/23 season, in July 2024, for a fee in the region of £42.3 million.
Bayern had pulled off a real coup, it seemed, especially with Fulham’s Premier League rivals Manchester United heavily linked with the Portuguese defensive midfielder.
The move for Paulinha will soften the blow for Tottenham, who missed out on Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White, although Gibbs-White is a more able operator higher up the pitch.
