FA Cup winners Crystal Palace are close to completing the singing of PSV Eindhoven goalkeeper Walter Benitez, on a free transfer. Benitez, 32, is out of contract with the Dutch champions this month.

The Argentinian goalkeeper, 32, has completed a medical with the London club. Benitez was an ever-present in the Eredivisie for PSV and started 11 out of the 12 Champions League matches last term.

Walter Bentiez’s arrival will give current number one Dean Henderson competition for his place.
