That’s what makes the decision all the more surprising! Yes, Tottenham did have a desperate campaign in the league that saw them finish 17th, but they have a trophy this season and Champions League football for next season.

If rumours are to be believed, Brentford’s Thomas Frank is the front-runner to replace the former Celtic boss.

Our personal choice would be Andoni Iraola, but after the season Tottenham and, to be more precise, Postecoglou have had, would any decent manager want such a challenging job?
