Former Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi has been named the new manager of Al-Hilal, a day after leaving the Italian giants.

Inzaghi, formerly of Lazio, became manager of the Neazzuri in 2021. During that time, Inter Milan reached two Champions League finals, won a Serie A title in 2023/24, and won the Copa Italia twice. 

Seen as one of the best tacticians in the modern game, the 49-year-old leaves the San Siro after his side suffered the biggest defeat in Champions League history (a 5-0 loss to PSG). 

Simone Inzaghi would have no doubt had many suitors in Europe due to the outstanding work he has done in his homeland. 

Inter has not named a successor yet, but Roberto Mancini and the recently departed Ajax Francesco Farioli.
