A late James Tarkowski goal ensured the final Merseyside derby at Everton’s Goodison Park finished all square at 2-2. In a chaotic game that saw both sides go down to 10 men, Everton will arguably come out of this game happier.
It started so well for The Toffees as their in-form striker Beto opened the scoring for David Moyes’ side. Argentine World Cup winner Alexis McAllister levelled the scoring.
As he has done on so many occasions, Liverpool’s top scorer, Mohammed Salah, scored a second for The Reds, which for long periods looked like it would be the winner, which was not the case when Blues skipper Tarkowski scored late on.
There was still time for more drama, as Everton’s Abdoulaye Dacoure and Liverpool’s Curtis Jones were involved in a scuffle, which resulted in both men receiving their marching orders.
