Monaco has agreed to continue hosting races for at least another six years after both parties agreed on a new deal. The Monaco Grand Prix is one of the most iconic race venues on the F1 calendar and has been hosting races since 1955.

The COVID year (2019) was one exception. In recent years, the F1 calendar has been introducing new venues, which has increased pressure on other venues to improve, Monaco Monte Carlo being one of them.

F1 dangled the carrot of TV money and on-track advertising to help secure future races at Monaco, but the sad truth is that the way the track is in Monaco, the ‘shutters’ can only stay open for so long.
