Former Manchester United striker Ruud Van Nistelrooij will not stay at the club after new boss Ruben Amorim opted to keep his same coaching team from Sporting Lisbon.

Such a decision is understandable, of course, after the 39-year-old Amorim and his team guided Sporting Lisbon to a thrilling 4-2 win over Braga. The former Manchester United striker had publicly made it clear he wanted to stay on, but it’s been confirmed he will be seeking pastures new.

The former PSV boss, who joined The Red Devils in the summer, was linked with the Burnley job before agreeing to return to Old Trafford. Whether the Dutchman takes a break from football is unknown, but one thing is for sure: he won’t be short on offers when he starts looking for work again.
