England have appointed Thomas Tuchel, a former manager of Mainz, Borussia Dortmund, PSG, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich, as their new manager in a deal until July 2026.

Tuchel will officially take up his new role in January 2025. An enormous win bonus has been inserted into the German’s contract in case he wins the 2026 World Cup in the USA.

The former Bayern Munich coach’s appointment will see him reunited with Harry Kane, who he worked with last term at the Allianz Arena. It’s not clear what caretaker manager Lee Carsley will do.

The former Everton midfielder had suggested in one press conference that he would return to the Under-21s.
