Former Monaco and Montreal Impact manager Thierry Henry has announced he is stepping down from his role as France Under-21 coach. The former Belgium assistant boss had agreed on a two-year deal with the French Federation but has left his role one year early.
Henry was in charge of France’s Olympic team and helped Les Bleus to silver after they fell short in the final short to Spain. The decision on the face of it was a bit of a surprise, especially after winning eight of his eleven games in charge.
At this point, it’s not clear what the former Arsenal legend will be doing, but with the Champions League soon to return, maybe the former Barcelona striker will spend more time there.
Only time will tell.
