Preston North End manager Ryan Lowe has left the club by mutual consent, just one game into the new season. The 45-year-old Lowe has managed Plymouth and Bury, which built up his reputation and prompted the Preston board to give him the job.
In his tenure at Deepdale, where he has been since December 2021, North End have finished 13th,12th and 10th, which I argue is an impressive feat as his side has a serious goal-scoring problem.
Mike Marsh, Lowe’s assistant has been placed as as interim manager. There were us football fans thinking it was going to be Rooney who would be the first manager this season to be sacked after the 4-0 spanking to Sheffield Wednesday.
David Moyes and Gary Rowett are just some of the names linked to the job.
