Hello, good evening sports fans, I hope you’re well looking after yourselves and are in good health. We need to talk about the T20 Cricket World Cup match between India and Pakistan, two of the fiercest rivals in World cricket.

New York, USA had the pleasure of hosting the biggest game on the planet, when it comes to sporting rivalries and what’s at stake. Sports fans, I apologise this will not be my normal style article, impartial.

I will be biased, 100%. But what I need to do is give India 100% credit for defending a paltry 119 all out. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and several other batsmen failed to settle and impose themselves on a tricky pitch.

Wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant top scored with 42. With wickets falling at regular intervals, the Pakistani pacers impressed. Mohammed Amir (2-23) and Naseem Shah (3-21) were the pick of the bowlers for Babar’s men.

Just 120 it was for Pakistan to chase, which shouldn’t have been a problem right, right?! Wrong! This is Pakistan, the team who loses to Ireland and Zimbabwe in this format we’re talking about.

Surely another embarrassment wasn’t on the cards? O, well Pakistan said, we get what you’re saying but we will raise you 50. Mohammed Rizwan scored 31 off 44, but then stupidly played one of the worst shots I have ever seen.

Rizwan tried to t-off against Bumrah, one of the best in the business, of his first ball of a new spell. So, with this inspired thinking of his, one might be surprised to know, that Mohammed Rizwan lost his middle stump instead of the ball going to row z.

Congrats to India, from the 14th over till the death, every single bowler stuck to their plans. What seemed like a total that couldn’t be defended, was done so with ease.

India and USA are arguably in the driving seat for qualification, as for Pakistan, they’re all but out. Yes, they pulled off a minor-miracle in the last tournament, but lightening doesn’t usually strike twice.
