Injured Novak Djokovic, who was the defending champion has withdrawn from French Open. The 24-time Grand Slam Winner who was looking to win a record-extending 25th title, pulled with a knee injury in the earlier rounds.
Novak, the World number one was able to play through the pain, but after having to strap his knee and having reported discomfort, not even the three-time French Open Champion, felt he could win this battle.
The seventh seed, Norway’s Casper Ruud automatically gets a place in the next round. Former World Number One Carlos Alcaraz will be facing new World Number One Jannik Sinner in the last four.
Italian Sinner who beat Novak at Roland Garros in last year’s final, has been in good form, hence his rise to World Number One. It’s really hotting up in the French Open.
