Ajax have appointed Nice boss Francesco Farioli as their new boss. The 35-year-old former goalkeeping coach’s appointment is keeping up with the recent tradition of big clubs hiring rookie managers who have excelled in their early years of management and have the potential to impress and progress further.
If appointed at Manchester United or Chelsea, Kieran Mckenna will be one and former City captain Vincent Kompany will be another, that’s if Bayern Munich agree a deal to appoint him as manager.
As per reports, that shouldn’t be an issue as talks are at an advanced stage. So in terms of Farioli, he has impressed in his young coaching career. The Barga native has worked with outgoing Brighton coach Roberto De Zerbi and his Nice side have a little inspiration from The Seagulls.
It was also in Farioli’s time in Turkey with Alanyaspor, that the young former goalkeeper impressed in his early days of coaching. When naming Francesco Farioli as their new manager, the Ajax Way was mentioned as the need for its restoration.
Graham Potter and Erik Ten Haag were linked with the role. Farioli will start his new role on 11th June, where he has agreed a three-year deal.
