Former Hertha Berlin and Huddersfield manager David Wagner has been sacked as Norwich boss after losing yesterday’s second-leg semi-final to Leeds United 4-0. The Canaries who drew at Carrow Road 0-0, were in with a chance they would have thought.
In the end, however, Norwich just couldn’t live with a rampant Leeds on the day, who cruise into the Championship play-off final. Either Southampton or West Brom await The Lillywhites.
As for Wagner, he joined Norwich in January 2023, replacing Dean Smith. Brought to replicate his promotion campaign with Huddersfield, Norwich City will be in their third season of England’s second tier.
This is uncharted territory indeed. Norwich have been accustomed to getting promoted after they have been relegated from the Premier League. Testing times ahead.
