McLaren’s Lando Norris became just the second man to prevent three-time defending champion Max Verstappen from winning a race. The Brit finished pole in Miami, with Verstappen finishing second. Ferarri’s Charles Leclerc completes the podium.

The Dutchman Verstappen was looking to earn a fifth win in six races this season but came up against an inspired Lando Norris on the day. Norris has been one of the drivers who has been talked up about having a great future.

After this result, maybe this is a sign that the future is now. The McLaren drive was seven seconds faster than the Red Bull, which is something I have never heard of.

A rare blot, if you can call it that for World Champion Max Verstappen because despite not winning the race he leads the championship by 33 points. Team-mate Sergio Perez with 103 points is the only driver close to him.

Norris despite this impressive win in Miami, is 53 points behind. Next up in the F1 calendar, is Imola. The race week is from 17th May to 19th May.
