It’s already been a tournament that has been full of shocks and surprises, but last night the World Snooker Championship lost the best two players in the world (Ronnie O’Sullivan and Judd Trump).
Seven-time world champion O’Sullivan lost to Stuart Bingham, who beat him at this stage in 2015 and Trump lost out to Jak Jones, a qualifier who is making his second appearance at The Crucible.
Jones who is known as The Silent Assassin defeated former world number 13-9 and former world champion beat The Rocket Ronnie O’Sullivan 13-11. As a result of the shocks and upsets in the quarter-finals, that means three of the four semi-finalists will be qualifiers.
Stuart Bingham is the only player to have won the world title before. This in theory will give him a slight advantage, but in a tournament full of shocks and surprises can the highly talented Kryen Wilson, conqueror of former four-time world champion John Higgins finally fulfil his potential finally?
