Leicester City have been promoted back to the Premier League, after one of their nearest challengers Leeds, were beaten 4-0 by QPR. The Foxes, who were in the ascendancy when it came to the title race, up until February, but saw their form desert them at the wrong time.
This loss of form, saw distant challengers Leeds United, Ipswich and Southampton claw back a massive gap between the chasing pack, that at one stage grew to 16 points.
Enzo Maresca’s side lost to Leeds and it seemed to be that the 2016 Premier League champions Leicester are going to choke badly and miss out on promotion altogether.
A 5-0 win against promotion rivals Southampton, eased Leicester City’s nerves and put them ever close to Premier League promotion. They got there in the end despite a serious wobble, which made the automatic promotion places at one stage into a four-way tussle.
With the top two going up automatically, Leeds and Ipswich will battle it out for the remaining automatic promotion position.
