Former Villareal, Valencia and Arsenal manager Unai Emery has signed a new contract with Aston Villa, to remain at the club till 2027. Emery, who replaced former boss Steven Gerrard in 2022, has helped guide The Villains to a seventh-place finish last term.

As impressive of a season that was after languishing around the drop zone, the 52-year-old Emery has guided Aston Villa to fourth in the table, which is the final Champions League position.

Tottenham, are Villa’s nearest challengers and are six points behind, with two games in hand. This contract extension will be great news for fans and owners alike.

The Spaniard Emery is one of the best coaches in the modern game, who boasts a wealth of experience in European competitions, mainly the Europa League having won the title four times with Sevilla and Villareal, which is a record.

Despite having a ‘tough time with Premier League rivals, he still took The Gunners to a Europa League final. This year with The Villains, Emery has guided the club to a semi-final in the Europa Conference League, where they will face Olympiakos.
