After breaking the IPL highest team score record against Mumbai Indians, Sunrisers Hyderabad broke it again in a high-scoring clash with Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Batting first Pat Cummins’ side made 287-3 beating the 277 they scored against the former five-time winners. Key to SRH’s big total was the belligerent century scored by opener Travis Head. The Aussie star hit his second T20 century, his latest effort of 102 came off just 41 balls.

Head was supported in his efforts, arguably the best-form T20 player in the world right now. Henrich Klaasen hit a crucial 67 off just 31 balls. Across the scorecard, the visitors Sunrisers Hyderabad had several significant contributions.

Abhishek Sharma (34 off 22), Aiden Markram (32 off 17) and a blistering innings of 37 off just 10 balls from Abdus-Samad.
Knowing they needed a minor miracle to win this one, the opening pair of former captain Virat Kohli and current captain Faff Du Plessis went about their business admirably.

Unfortunately for the challengers, their challenge of trying to chase what appeared to be an unsurmountable total, which started well, was faltering.

Veteran wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik did try to keep hopes alive with a counter-attacking knock (83 off 35 balls), but sadly for the home side, they just fell short.

Their latest win sees SRH fourth in a congested IPL table. Hyderabad are tied for the second position points-wise but sit fourth due to an inferior run rate over KKR.

As for RCB, this latest defeat sees them stranded even further at the bottom of the table.
