Hello, good afternoon, sports fans, I hope you’re well looking after yourselves and are in good health.
We need to talk about an issue that’s important in the sporting world, Jose Mourinho. The Special One who has been a manager for 20 years, has been sacked as Roma coach, as reported here.
Jose, who was out of contract at the end of the season, wasn’t able to convince the club’s hierarchy to give him a new deal, despite the public pleas. Former club captain Danielle De Rossi comes in to replace the former Porto boss till the end of the season.
In general, I don’t like interim coaches, but for De Rossi, this is a free hit for the former midfielder. Do well, he has given himself a good shot of being a permanent manager, if it doesn’t go well, maybe they can save their pennies and go big.
Go big for someone like Antonio Conte. If you want to go big, then maybe Montella? Roma can’t get any lower at the moment. As for former manager Jose Mourinho, some quarters of the press seem to suggest that Jose is passed his best, or premium jobs are hard to come by.
This is nonsense, why? If (heaven forbid), Newcastle get rid of Eddie Howe, one can see from a mile off, who they would want to replace him, Jose. Although he’s doing a good job, there have been murmurs that the former Real Madrid boss could go back to the Bernabeu.
With Ancelotti at the helm and doing a superb job, I wouldn’t be keen on such a reunion. One reunion would be good if it could happen, that would be for Jose to return to Old Trafford and replace Erik Ten Haag.
Jose Mourinho, would whip those underperformers into shape, but such is the balance of power to the players at United, they would push him out, again! He is the most successful manager after Sir Alex left in 2013, it should be noted.
Yours truly had him dead set for the Portugal job, but Roberto Martinez reigned in on that parade. It pains me to say it, but this latest sacking isn’t the end, or at least it shouldn’t be the end of The Special One.
Rather the 60-year-old should step away from club management and go into International management. Next England manager? Never say never, but if anything I think the Brazil job would be a good one for Jose.
Sure The Selecao might have to sacrifice some Samba Style, but with Jose Mourinho at the helm, they will be solid. Just to remind you though, Mr Mourinho’s Real Madrid team did score 100 goals in a La Liga season.
So yeah, he’s clearly a very boring manager all the time.
