Goals from Thomas Souceck and former Gunner Konstantinos Mavropanos helped West Ham beat London rivals 2-0 and put a dent in hosts Arsenal’s title challenge.
This defeat for Mikel Arteta’s men means they’re two points behind league leaders Liverpool. What will make this defeat all the more bitter is that they had the better of the game and chances.
The Hammers though however were ruthless and scored two goals from their only three shots on target. As a result of this defeat, although costly it’s not affecting their standing in the Premier League table.
Arsenal remain remain second on 40 points and Aston Vila remain on 39 points after both lost.
As for West Ham as a result of this win, they move into the top six are two points above Manchester United and have a good goal difference too.
