Hello, good morning sports fans, I hope you’re well and in good health. Sports fans, football fans we need to talk, to talk about football and be precise about Girona.
The Catalan minnows are home to world-renowned restaurants, and not so much their football team, but this little town in Catalunya, is now gaining attention in the football world.
After finishing midtable last season, a very respectable position for a club of this size, Girona through some loanee players have seriously impressed this season.
They play in the Tiki-Taka way as described by some. With the La Liga side under the Manchester City group then it’s understandable to see how this is the case.
Unlike City, Girona still play in their stadium which is home to some 14,000 fans. Big Spenders Real Madrid are now two points behind, that was because the White and Reds secured the biggest win in their history.
Against who, I hear you ask? Just Barcelona, Girona’s more illustrious neighbours. To add gloss to the score line, Michel’s Girona side won 4-2 at the Nou Camp.
In the past decade, there have only been three winners of La Liga. Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona are the three sides.
Maybe Barca’s rivals Girona, can be the fourth? It will be some achievement if they can.
