If my memory serves me correctly, at the height of their rivalry, Jose Mourinho said about Pep Guardiola, he doesn’t enjoy his football, this is why he’s bald.

Dear reader, I am paraphrasing to a point, but Jose did say something to that effect. I argue the same can be said of current Manchester United manager Erik Ten Haag.

Former Ajax manager Ten Haag is in his second season with the club. After the first season saw some promise, this season has been false dawns cut short, after the initial promise.

Simply put, being a Man U fan must be quite the rollercoaster ride for the emotions. In midweek The Red Devils were excellent, this afternoon, they were quite simply awful.

The argument is, is that the former Bayern academy manager Ten Haag, needs time to develop this team. There’s one thing with that, signings such as Andre Onana and Anthony have been his signings.

I am sorry to say, that neither has consistently hit top heights, with nearly half of the season to go, (with a little bit more), I am doubtful of their ability to succeed in a Man United shirt.

Granted, this reaction may be reactionary, but to lose 3-0 to a side that not too long were also struggling.

Some football fans were creating the narrative that Andoni Iraola, formerly of Rayo Vallecano was out of his depth managing in the Premier League.

His side couldn’t buy a win it seemed. Now, his Cherries side are in 13th place and are looking up the table and for now, not so much down.

Manchester United fans, you will be delighted to know, it’s just Liverpool in the next game. Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side are a member of the Premier League’s top nine.

Worry now Manchester United fans, or we can dream that miracles do happen. Either way, Manchester United seem intent on being this year’s Jekyll and Hyde.
