Hello, good afternoon sports fans, I hope you’re well, looking after yourselves and you’re in good health.
Sports fans, let’s talk about Rugby Union and to be more precise the Rugby Union World Cup. Now just four teams remain.
Against all odds, one of those sides in the semi-final (Argentina) has never won the World Cup.
England, South Africa and New Zealand the other sides left in the tournament have won it multiple times.
Defending champions South Africa, if they defend their World Cup trophy as they did four years ago, will join The All-Blacks New Zealand as a team to win back-to-back World Cups.
The Springboks will win their fourth world title if they come out on top in France. South Africa did after all beat the highly fancied hosts 29-28 in the quarter-final in a game which will be remembered for years to come.
In the defending champions’ way is England, who came into this tournament with a new coach Steve Borthwick.
This led to many England fans, it could be argued coming into this tournament with low expectations. The Red Rose, who have come unstuck against South Africa in a couple of finals before, will have their work cut out.
Coach Jacques Neinaber, has a side, that has eight survivors from the last World Cup, but also has some players who seamlessly fit into the generation of the South African rugby team.
The other semi-final might appear to be a mismatch due to the New Zealand side being one of the best ever, but Argentina did beat Wales in the last round.
I think it will be South Africa and New Zealand in the final. Mark Foster’s All Blacks of course have the legacy, but how can one look past South Africa?
