After completing the signing of France forward Christopher Nkunku, Chelsea are now back to square one after news emerged the former RB Leipzig man could be until December with a knee injury.

Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino was optimistic and bullishly declared the injury to not be a big issue. Reports that are coming out, are saying on the contrary.

If those reports are reliable, they say that former PSG academy graduate Nkunku will be out till December.

Frenchman Nkunku, 25, has only joined up with Chelsea this summer and looked impressive alongside fellow new signing Nicholas Jackson in Pre Season.

The Blues who have been chasing Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo all summer, could be forced into a rethink due to this potential development.
Ecuadorian Caicedo will cost a reported fee of close to £100 million, which could be better spent on a striker.

Connor Gallagher, who was set to leave the club, could now stay as well. Another want-away player, Romelu Lukaku might be given a Chelsea lifeline.

Bearing in mind that infamous interview the Belgian gave to Sky Italia when Thomas Tuchel was boss, it appears Rom doesn’t harbour any ambitions to stay in West London.

With Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang sold, Chelsea only have Nicholas Jackson and Armando Broja as the only senior forwards available.
The Blues scored 38 goals last term, which emphasises just how big of a blow this is.

Former Manchester City star Raheem Sterling can play down the middle, but bearing in mind their struggles in front of a goal, ideally, a specialist is needed up top.

Potential signings could be PSG striker Hugo Ekiteke and even France captain Kylian Mbappe on a season-long loan has also been suggested.

World-class forwards are hard to come by and when they do become available, clubs are selling for a premium.
Something for you to ponder on Chelsea.
