Nine-time French champions Marseille are making serious strides in this current market, but it’s arguably been done somewhat under the radar.

Marcelino’s side have made some very good signings, let’s make no mistake about it. Atletico pair Ronan Lodi and Geoffrey Kondogbia have been signed.

On top of that, the French side have signed Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and IIliman Ndiaye who were at Chelsea and Sheffield United respectively.

Last but not least, the signing of Ismaila Sarr is another example to show that the 1993 Champions League winners mean business domestically.

Not since that great side, have Olympique Marseille had a side that can be really competitive. Monaco, Lyon and currently PSG have jumped the queue somewhat, in being the top sides in France.

Backed by American Frank McCourt, the Billioaire has backed former Valencia coach Marcelino with some very eye catching signings.

Fierce rivals Paris Saint Germain who are now managed by Marcelino’s compatriot Louis Enrique, have been a bit quiet in terms of incoming and have made more news in terms of outgoings.

With that in mind, the main rivals would be PSG to Marseille.
