Nottingham Forest have completed their second signing of the transfer window after completing the signing of Manchester United forward Anthony Elanga.

The 21-year-old Swede has signed a five-year deal at The City Ground. Elanga had been with United since he was 12 and achieved a first-team breakthrough in 2021.

Under former manager Ralf Ragnick he was a permanent fixture in the side, which at the time led to intense speculation that fellow forward Marcus Rashford will be sold.

With Man United changing their manager, this led to Elanga’s United career to stall. Last season the Manchester United academy graduate’s game time dwindled.

With Anthony, Jadon Sancho, Garnacho and of course, Rashford, manager Erik Ten Haag feels he has enough wide-forward options.

We hear at The Sports Buff feel that this is a cheap price and with The Red Devils in need of funds, they haven’t taken advantage fully here.

Anthony Elanga becomes the second Nottingham Forest summer signing and also comes the second United player to join The Pine Trees in recent times after Jesse Lingard.

Here’s to hoping Elanga’s career at Nottingham Forest doesn’t end the same way, after just one season.
