Spanish sensation Carlos Alcaraz will face Novak Djokovic in Sunday’s Wimbledon final, in what promises to be an epic encounter.

Seven-time champion and defending champion Novak Djokovic eased into his 35th Grand Slam final, which is a record.

Sunday’s showpiece sees Novak make a ninth appearance in the final. In contrast, young Spaniard Alacaraz is in his first final.

On route to the final, both men impressed and both overcame their biggest challenges of the tournament in the semi-finals, in straight sets.

Carlos Alcaraz beat former world number one Daniil Medvedev, in what turned out to be a comprehensive win 6-3,6-3,6-3.

The other semi-final was just as one-side as Novak Djokovic swept aside Marik Jenner also in straight sets.

The third set was a bit of a challenge and maybe Jenner was going to get on the board. Last year these two did face each other in the quarter-finals.

That day Jenner was two sets up, only to lose the match in five sets. In this match, however, Djokovic would win 6-3, 6-4, 7-6.

On to Sunday’s final then and, we will stick with our initial prediction, Novak wins the title in four sets.

Write off Carlos Alcaraz at your peril, after all the Spaniard has revenge on the agenda after his French Open loss to Novak.
