After reporting the desperate news that former Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin Van Der Sar had bleeding on his brain, there’s now some encouraging news regarding his health.

The former Ajax chief executive is in intensive care still, but isn’t now in a ‘life-threatening condition’.

Van Der Sar’s wife Annemarie van Kesteren gave this update in a statement issued by Edwin’s former club Ajax.

The football world was in shock when news broke out last week that Edwin Van Der Sar suffered bleeding to his brain last week.
