Chelsea have completed their first signing under new boss Mauricio Pochettino, with the signing of France striker Christoper Nkunku. The PSG academy graduate has signed from RB Leipzig in a deal worth a reported £52 million.

The 25-year-old was subject to a lot of interest, clubs like Liverpool and Manchester United were said to be interested in signing Nkunku. A deal for the RB Leipzig man was agreed in principle last season, but a serious injury amongst other mitigating factors delayed the deal.

Eventually Todd Boehly got his man. Christopher Nkunku can play in several positions. Up front, out wide or even behind the striker, one thing is for certain if the former PSG man can settle in and settle in quickly, Chelsea will have a real gem on their hands.

Last season he scored 16 goals in 25 games in the Bundesliga, which suggests he is capable of providing the West London club’s attack with the spark it so dearly craved last term.

With Kai Havertz sold, The Blues need some attacking reinforcements and fast.

Christopher Nkunku becomes the second striker in recent times to be signed by Chelsea from RB Leipzig. I think football fans will remember the other one. Chelsea look set to firm up their interest in Villareal striker Nicholas Jackson.
