Two-time defending champion Max Verstappen strengthened his grip at the top of the world championship standings with a commanding win in the Canadian Grand Prix.

Former two-time world champion Fernando was second in his Aston Martin to carry on his good 2023 season and Lewis Hamilton who has enthused about the new upgrades to the Mercedes car was third.

It was a podium of 3 drivers that have shared 11 world championships. I am not sure if this has ever happened, but the moment seemed unique.
As the world champion took the chequered flag for the sixth time in eight races, the signs look ominous for the rest of the grid.

As impressive as Verstappen was to win yet another race this season as well as Hamilton to carry on his recent encouraging up turn in form, the organisers of the Canadian GP deserve a massive well done after some concerns of driver safety and people safety in the area.

The Austrian Grand Prix will be held at the Red Bull Ring, Spielberg, from 30th June to 2nd July.
